WHAT TO EXPECT-BAUBLE TOWN

You’ve bought tickets for BAUBLE TOWN, what happens next?

Thank you so much for booking a ticket to see BAUBLE TOWN, we can’t wait to welcome you to our magical festive world!

We know that some people like to know what to expect before coming to see a show, so we’ve put this guide together. If you need any further information, please contact  admin@sheproductions.co.uk. You may also wish to take a look at our FAQ page, where we aim to answer regularly asked questions regarding our performances.

The Venue
BAUBLE TOWN will be performed at many libraries around the East Riding and at the POP-UP SPACE, 1-2 Pier Street, Hull, HU1 1ZA.

Our venues are all accessible. Most venues are small, intimate spaces that have chairs arranged around the performance area. At every venue there will be a quieter breakout space. If you need to head outside for a few moments, you can also do so and return indoors when you are ready.

Tickets
We sell tickets through Ticketsource. If you have any questions about your tickets, it is best to contact us via admin@sheproductions.co.uk . You don’t need to print your tickets and bring them with you – we will have your names on a guestlist. However it is useful to have your tickets on your phone to present to our designated member of staff.

Story
We understand that some people like to know what happens in the show, so we will publish an access guide, featuring images of characters, the set/instruments and the contents of the story. This will be posted to our website for audiences to access.

All of our BAUBLE TOWN performances are relaxed.

This means you are free to do any of the following, at any time:

Move around
Make noise
Wear ear defenders (We will have a small supply if required)
Talk and ask questions
Go to the toilet
Go to our quieter break out area.
Go outside

Although this performance is relaxed, it is not always quiet. The show includes live acoustic music and the audience is encouraged to join in at moments, including shouting and singing.

When you arrive
When you head inside, a staff member of She Productions will ask you to show your ticket, so it can be scanned.
They may ask you if you have been to one of our shows before. We ask this question as we like to know how many people have come for the first time.

Who you will meet

You will meet our She Productions front of house manager, Alice, who looks after audiences at each of our shows. If you have any questions or concerns, please do speak with them. There are also the brilliant library staff, they will be on hand should you have any questions too.

Pre-show activity
Every year we ask our audience to enjoy a pre-show activity designed to engage our young audiences and get them excited about the show.

We’ll be doing the same again this year, at each venue there will be an area where you will be able to find out this year's activity and join in!

Is there a programme I can purchase?
We are trailing a sustainable production, so our programme this year is digital. There will be a QR code which can be scanned using your phone to access our free programme.

Content of the Show?

Bauble Town was lovingly created through collaboration with local young carers and children in care. The show explores meaningful themes about family, including:

  • Experiences of foster families

  • What family means to different people

  • Young carers' daily lives and responsibilities

  • Care experiences and conversations

We've worked closely with these incredible young people to tell their stories respectfully and authentically. While the show is filled with magic and joy, we understand these themes may resonate deeply with some audience members.

We aim to make this a welcoming, supportive experience for all families.
