About the Event
Shakespeare and sitcoms - what’s not to love?
She Productions’ Community Theatre presents an eclectic evening, showcasing a selection of Shakespeare’s monologues, followed by an exclusive screening of their original Sitcom: Fish Bowl Café.
As a collective consisting of the perfect blend of seasoned actors, and those treading the boards for the first time, She Productions’ Community Theatre has been thriving for 3 terms, developing skills and growing as a group.
This term they have dived into Shakespeare’s monologues to enable them to explore the gift that Shakespeare’s language can be for an actor, using a variety of tools to pick apart the text and really immerse themselves in the characters.
Fish Bowl Café was created over 12 weeks, during which members of the Community Theatre created characters, wrote monologues and improvised scenes, using the bustling local hang-out: Fish Bowl Café. Whether it’s the weekly Kinit and Natter meet, the competitive Writing Group or a much-needed catch up, Fish Bowl Café is the place to go…although the choice of refreshments may be slightly limited…! The project was filmed and expertly guided by Fly Girl Films.
She Productions, a registered charity, is using this performance to celebrate the talent of the Community Theatre, and also to raise much-needed funds for future projects. When you invest in a ticket for All The World’s A Stage… Or Screen , not only will you be entertained, but your contribution will go towards supporting the sustainability of the Community Theatre, and will ensure that we can continue to offer bursary places for those currently not in employment. Suitable for 12+
