ABOUT SHE PRODUCTIONS

She Inspires. She Engages. She Empowers.
She Productions was formed in 2015 by a group of Hull and East Riding actresses who are committed to creating high quality, innovative work for audiences and participants of all ages. Our mission is to develop and produce vibrant
original work driven by the female voice, alongside accessible and bespoke programmes serving
local communities.

We have a strong focus on ‘edutainment’, which is using entertainment as a vehicle for social
change via productions and outreach work, meaning that all family shows have educational
themes and focus on social issues.
Through the development of the company over the years, and planned development for the future,
we have firmly rooted ourselves in the East Riding, with plans to continue engaging rural audiences
and working with intergenerational communities to create relevant and accessible work.

Shaping 'Bauble Town': A Community Collaboration
This autumn, we were privileged to work with young carers and children looked after through East Riding of Yorkshire Council's Children's Participation and Rights Team. Their experiences and insights have profoundly influenced "Bauble Town", from its central themes to the final song in the production, in which we’ve been so proud to include some of their lyrics.
Through creative workshops at Pop-Up Space in Hull's Fruit Market, these young people shared their perspectives on family life, belonging, and what makes a home. Their unique voices have helped create a show that authentically represents diverse family experiences and celebrates all kinds of families.
During our workshops, the children looked after expressed their wish to raise awareness about the need for more foster carers in our region. If you'd like to learn more about becoming a foster carer and making a difference in a child's life, please visit: www.eastriding.gov.uk/fostering
We're deeply grateful to these young people for their openness, creativity, and willingness to share their stories with us and with you.
