Who are you wearing?

Independent London-based clothing brand, Who Are You Wearing, today launched a new range of apparel celebrating the stories of inspirational

women and their not-talked-about-enough achievements. The new collection of London-designed graphic tees focuses on Grammy and Brit Award nominated British singer-songwriter Joan Armatrading, whose incredible musical career spans five decades.

Founded in 2019 in response to the many red-carpet questions female celebrities receive about the designers of their outfits, rather than their own achievements, Who Are You Wearing uses fashion to shine a spotlight on exceptional women and their stories. Who Are Your Wearing apparel features imagery of, and quotes from, highly-accomplished women such as Amy Johnson, Helen Sharman and Beryl Burton whose stories are often less well-known.

Cat Allcock, founder of Who Are You Wearing explains: “At Who Are You Wearing we’re tired of womens’ achievements being overlooked in favour of a focus on the outfits they wear; so we wanted to subvert that narrative by making the clothes themselves a canvas for celebrating female success. We are using the power of fashion to give incredible individuals the recognition they deserve and to inspire a new generation to dream big.”

Who Are You Wearing’s collection use organic cotton all of which are certified with the Fair Wear Foundation. The printing is carried out in the UK using water-based inks.

Cat continues: “We want to be an educational, enlightening and ethical independent clothing brand for women. We’re excited to launch our new Joan range today, featuring her quote ‘You don’t have to be rich and famous. You just have to be an ordinary person doing extraordinary things’ which underlines the importance of everyone’s contribution in these challenging times.”
