Sound Engineer: It’s Different For Girls

We are looking for a Hull and East Riding based Sound Engineer to come on tour with It’s Different For Girls. Please see below full details:

Project: It’s Different For Girls
Director: Becky Hope-Palmer
Location: Touring
Rehearsals: 1st October – 6th October (Hull)
Tech: 8th October – 10th October (Hull)
Tour: 15 dates between 11th October – 30th November
£350 per week
Accommodation and travel will be provided for each venue where necessary.
Total engagement: 4 weeks
Role and Responsibilities 
  • Discussing the production’s sound needs with the director/sound designer and/or musical director.
  • Ensuring that suitable equipment is sourced before the tour begins.
  • In conjunction with the Production Manager, investigate each venue and determine venue limitations and to ensure that the same consistent Sound is re-produced at every venue.
  • Identifying places where any sound effects, music and changes in sound level are needed
  • pre-recording any sound effects and music
  • Preparing Q-Lab files, in conjunction with the SM.
  • Positioning and Rigging up microphones
  • Completing line/sound checks before a performance
  • Operating all live sound during shows
  • Operating all QLAB audio files
  • Following a sound plan (known as a ‘plot’) and cues
  • Looking after and repairing equipment
  • Unloading, setting up, dismantling and loading equipment at each venue when on tour
  • Working under direction from the Production Manager
